Job summary

West Virginia University Libraries is seeking an Access Services Student Supervisor for the Downtown Library. The role hires and oversees 20-30 student assistants, schedules and reviews timesheets, and manages training and evaluations at the public service desk.

You will develop a comprehensive training program with Library peers, oversee ETD processing support, and ensure smooth desk operations and closing procedures. This is an on-site, full-time position in Morgantown.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; Substantial library or relevant work experience may be substituted.
• Minimum one year in library or relevant work experience; Public/Customer Service experience.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Hire, schedule, approve timesheets, evaluate, and direct 20-30 student assistants in the department.
• Prepare an annual budget request for work-study and non-salary student employees based on department needs.
• Monitor budget throughout the year and notify Director of Access Services of any shortages or issues.
• Train students in stacks maintenance and public service desk; create task priorities and ensure timely, accurate work; write evaluations.
