Job summary

Tidelands Health in Murrells Inlet, SC seeks a Dosimetrist Assistant to support treatment planning. You will import CT scans, create normal tissue contours, and assist in communicating plans to the care team.

Under supervision of certified dosimetrists and physicists, you will develop basic external beam plans, prepare charts, and handle data transfers. A Radiation Therapist certificate or Radiologic Technology degree is required, with options for students pursuing dosimetry.

Qualifications

• Certificate as Radiation Therapist or Bachelor's in Radiologic Technology required.
• Current student or applicant to a Medical Dosimetry Program required.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, oncology, radiobiology, physics and safety.
• Familiar with healthcare informatics and data management systems.
• Proficient with MS Office and treatment planning software.

Responsibilities

• Imports CT scans into treatment planning software.
• Generates normal tissue contours for review by dosimetrist and oncologist.
• Obtains previous treatment records and uploads into planning system.
• Develops basic external beam plans under supervision.
• Prepares treatment charts and prints PDFs of plans.
• Performs image fusion with CT/MRI/PET under supervision.

Importing CT Simulation scans, generating normal tissue contours and post processing of approved treatment plans. This person will utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, radiation therapy techniques, physics, and technology. The Dosimetrist Assistant will communicate with the Dosimetrist during the treatment planning process and participate in communicating the plan to the Radiation Oncologist, Medical Physicist, and the Radiation Therapist for implementation.What you will doImports CT scans into the treatment planning software. Generates normal tissue contours to be reviewed by Certified Medical Dosimetrist and the Radiation Oncologist prior to the Treatment Planning ProcessObtain previous Treatment Records from Outside Departments and uploads them into the departments planning software.Develops basic external beam treatment plans, under supervision of Certified Medical Dosimetrists or physicists.Treatment chart preparation & printing PDF of approved treatment plans.
