More than 2,500 team members at more than 70 Tidelands Health locations bring our healing mission to life each day.A Brief OverviewThe Dosimetrist, under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist and the Physicist develops treatment plans using the CT scanner, Pet/CT fusion software, Treatment Planning Computer and clinical set-up. Confers with the Radiation Oncologist to give prescribed doses to tumor volume while sparing surrounding tissues. Under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist assists and confirms new start treatment set-ups with radiation therapists. Follows all prescribed patient and treatment and safety protocols and completes other duties as assigned all while exhibiting exemplary core customer skills.What you will doDesign dosimetrist plans for the delivery of radiation treatments which meet the physicians objectives and physics precision requirementsWork cooperatively and effectively with physicians and physicists during the treatment planning process and any procedural developmentProvide technical direction as needed to CT technologist, Radiation Therapist and other support personnel.
