Job summary

Goodwill Central Coast is hiring for a donation center associate in Salinas, CA. You will maintain the donation area, greet donors, issue receipts, and prepare items for floor display. The role involves lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a busy retail environment.

No prior experience is required; on‑the‑job training is provided. Basic English (and possibly Spanish) communication is helpful for interacting with donors and staff in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Duties learned on the job; no prior experience required.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment preferred; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Familiarity with Goodwill Central Coast policies may be learned on the job.

Responsibilities

• Maintain donation area inside a retail store, keeping it neat and organized.
• Greet donors and accept/reject items; explain reasons for rejection.
• Issue donor receipts and record donation details.
• Arrange donations in designated containers and ensure safe packing.
• Coordinate with transportation for donation status and supplies.
