Job summary

You will perform screening steps per SOPs, conduct basic health checks, assist with finger-stick tests, and help donors understand procedures and policies. This role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, safety, and teamwork, with potential cross-training and bilingual communication as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 3 months in clerical or customer service roles, preferably in healthcare.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors and conduct registration procedures to verify donor suitability.
• Assist donors in screening per SOPs, including health history, basic medical questions, refer to medical staff when appropriate, and perform health screening procedures (blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature).
• Perform finger stick to obtain hematocrit and total protein levels.
• Educate new donors on therapeutic products from donated plasma, including screening, tests, appointment system, center policies, and nutrition.
• Register applicants and transfer donors as needed.
• Answer telephone and transfer calls as appropriate.
• Monitor donor for any reactions and notify staff.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system.
• Understand policies for hyperimmune programs if applicable.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies; follow HSE/OSHA procedures and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas.
• Bilingual skills may be required to meet business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
