Job summary

CSL is seeking a donor center technician to support pheresis procedures. You will prepare donors, donor areas, and equipment, ensure machine readiness, monitor the process, and disconnect donors upon completion.

You will record incidents and link equipment to donors using the PDA, while maintaining safety, confidentiality, and data integrity. The role requires attention to donor reactions, adherence to SOPs, and potential cross-training in related areas.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
  • Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
  • Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals.
  • Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
  • Maintains awareness of donor reactions and notifies appropriate staff.
  • Uses PDA to record incidents, machine alerts, volume variances and adverse events.
  • Links equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the donor in the PDA system.
  • Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
  • Records donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system.
  • Maintains clean, safe work environment and ensures supplies are available; follows HSE/OSHA policies.
  • Maintains confidentiality of donor and center information.
  • May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
