Job summary

Horizon Goodwill in Mount Jackson, VA is seeking a part-time Donor Greeter at our Mt Jackson Retail Store. You will welcome donors, guide them through our donation process, and provide a positive experience while processing donations accurately.

The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, safety, and the ability to manage donations in a busy retail setting. The position pays $12.77 per hour and requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-screenings such as background or drug screenings.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet and offer assistance to all customers.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service and reject items we cannot accept in a professional manner.
• Determine usable and saleable items as specified in guidelines for acceptable donations.
• Accurately track all donations according to standards set by management.
• Support processing by maintaining proper staging of donated goods, rerouting items to correct stations and assisting with maintenance of workstations.
• Provide donors with exceptional customer service, including but not limited to greeting within 10 seconds of arriving, evaluating donations, politely declining items on our do not accept list, handling donations with care, and maintaining an organized and clean donation area.
• Maintain store cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, dusting, emptying trash cans, and ensuring hangers and racks are orderly.
• Follow all required safety and security procedures.
• Maintain efficient product flow in line with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with all company policy and procedures as well as store policies, including but not limited to opening and closing tasks, pricing, markdowns, and accurate, timely completion of required paperwork.
• Receive and verify merchandise incoming to the location from warehouse and vendors.
• Participate in training as required.
• Support store operations by participating in cross‑training as assigned by management.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
