Job summary

The Salvation Army in Portland, Maine is seeking a Database Entry Specialist to maintain accurate donor records, process contributions, and support reporting across the development team.

You will train staff on the donor database, run routine reports, handle donor inquiries, and assist with light research while upholding confidentiality and data integrity in a mission-driven nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with CRM and database environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Thoroughness, accuracy, and detail oriented.
• Peripheral knowledge of basic accounting/bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Process credit card donations and gift entries daily with accuracy.
• Update donor records, including contact info and giving history.
• Run reports for locations and internal teams across financial data.
• Train staff on database features and data entry procedures.
• Conduct light constituent research to fill missing information.
• Respond to donor inquiries related to online giving and resolve issues.
• Validate and process employee giving and matching gifts.
• Coordinate matching gift information with internal contacts.
• Support all online gift processing and assist staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Annual Fund or Divisional Development Director.
