Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Donor Care Specialist in California to support donor retention and stewardship. You will act as the main contact for donor inquiries, maintain donor records, and support acknowledgments and engagement efforts.

This role is vital for smooth donor operations and enabling the Development team to focus on relationships and revenue growth. Responsibilities include handling inquiries, updating records, coordinating acknowledgments, and assisting with high-volume periods

Qualifications

• Minimum a high school diploma; associate degree preferred.
• Experience with donor databases or CRM systems is required.
• 2+ years in customer service, admin support, or nonprofit development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for donor inquiries via phone and email with timely, professional support.
• Maintain accurate donor records and resolve issues related to gifts, payments, and accounts.
• Prepare and coordinate donor acknowledgments and stewardship communications.
• Support year-end campaigns and other donor-related projects while managing multiple priorities.
