Goodwill of Silicon Valley in Morgan Hill, CA is seeking a part-time Retail Donor Greeter I to welcome donors, accept donations, and ensure a positive donation experience while supporting store operations.

The role handles donation processing, organization of donated goods, basic safety procedures, and interaction with customers, with a focus on speed, accuracy, and courtesy in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general arithmetic (adding/subtracting) is required.
• Proficient in the English language.

Responsibilities

• Follow Current Standard Operating Procedures for Donation Process.
• Greet all donors within 15 seconds of arrival.
• Accept donations from customers, provide physical receipts or offer digital receipts, and thank all donors.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Sort and arrange donations in bins to go to various sorting areas of the store.
• Discard broken, damaged, or trash items from raw hardline boxes.
• Invite customers to complete the CAP (Customer Ambassador Program) survey during customer interactions while maintaining professionalism.
• Coordinate with sorters to maintain continuous product flow and ensure empty boxes are readily available for operations.
• Monitor box capacity levels and coordinate timely replacement to prevent overflow or operational delays.
• Ensure the sorting area and all boxes are set up and ready prior to the sorters’ opening shift.
• Keep donation area well maintained.
• Accurately track quantity of donations during shift.
• Load and unload company trucks and trailers.
• Ensure all boxes have proper labeling.
• Properly load and prepare trucks for pick up by transportation.
• Follow and enforce all company procedures.
• Keep up to date on all safety and equipment certifications as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested.
