U.S.VETS in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced National Development Communications Manager. You will develop donor-focused content across fundraising and engagement programs, telling stories that advance our mission to support veterans.

You will lead content creation, work with national teams, and manage campaigns across email, social, and web while upholding branding and quality standards. This role requires strong writing, project management, and strategic communications skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 3+ years in development, communications, fundraising, grant writing, or similar role.
  • Must be organized and able to create centralized communications resources to enhance fundraising.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with departments and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Excellent time management with multi-tasking and deadline-driven work.
  • Ability to manage complex projects with high attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with initiative to identify problems and propose solutions.
  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • Strong eye for digital layouts and detail; familiarity with CMS and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsabilités

  • Create donor-centric content for cultivation, fundraising, engagement events and stewardship communications (emails, appeals, stories, newsletters, blog posts, reports, proposals, website and social content).
  • Develop knowledge of programming/initiatives to communicate mission to funders.
  • Collaborate with national and regional teams to identify stories and gather testimonials from veterans, employees, volunteers.
  • Support strategic social media campaigns to promote U.S.VETS and donor engagement.
  • Create/update pitches with clear data and narratives for fundraising staff.
  • Manage communications projects end-to-end, ensuring branding and quality standards.
  • Manage donor email lists in Constant Contact for external communications.
  • Gather, analyze, and report campaign data to adjust approaches.
  • Identify metrics for measuring communications effectiveness (engagements, click-through rates).
  • Lead digital execution across email, website, and social campaigns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
