Job summary

CSL Plasma in Pontiac, MI is seeking a donor pheresis technician to support the apheresis process. You will prepare the donor, area, and equipment, monitor the process, and respond to alarms to ensure donor safety and product quality.

You will use a PDA to record incidents, link equipment to donors, and maintain accurate donor information in the system. A high school diploma and basic math skills are required, with modest healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic math calculations required.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organization discretion.
• Experience in medical or health-provider environment is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Use PDA to record incidents during the pheresis process and link equipment to the donor.
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs if applicable.
• Maintain clean work environment and ensure supplies; follow HSE/OSHA policies and promote safety.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
