Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Silver Spring, MD seeks an Assistant Director of Donor Advancement & Upgrades to grow unrestricted revenue through personalized stewardship and proactive donor engagement.

You will lead annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving programs, coordinating with frontline fundraisers to identify prospects, secure upgrades, and strengthen donor lifetime value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or other related field (Required)
• 4 years of technical development experience with a proven record in lower level major gifts, high end annual gifts or special event execution, or managing a component of the marketing program preferably in a healthcare or academic setting (Required)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; effective interpersonal skills; initiative; teamwork; professionalism and integrity
• Proven experience in successfully building and cultivating donor relationships; ability to develop fundraising strategies and tactics; familiarity with donor platforms like Raiser's Edge

Responsibilities

• Develop fundraising programs including strategy, budget, and communications
• Execute donor strategy via phone, email, mail, and face-to-face meetings
• Renew 80% of assigned donors annually
• Secure new or upgraded annual donors at $5,000+ annually
• Identify Major Gifts and Planned Giving prospects annually
• Update fundraising database with donor notes and outcomes
