Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking an Associate Director of Annual Giving to drive unrestricted revenue and lead a comprehensive annual giving program. You will manage planning, execution, and assessment across a multi-pronged program and oversee staff reporting to the Director, Annual & Community Giving.

The role requires 5–7 years of relevant experience, strong writing and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage complex donor portfolios and initiatives like the ENC society.

Responsibilities

• Execute a comprehensive annual giving program, raising a minimum of $1.5M annually for the BMC Fund.
• Oversee project management of direct mail appeals, impact reports and other materials with vendors.
• Maintain portfolio management of annual giving donors; use DXO strategy.
• Manage and mentor the annual giving team and coach on donor engagement.
• Oversee the Exceptional Neighbor Circle giving society ($1k–$25k).
• Identify and transition donors to major gift/planned giving portfolios.
• Track data and performance metrics to inform short- and long-term strategy.
• Grow the staff employee giving campaign and engage clinical leaders.
• Increase Grateful Patient fundraising through outreach and stewardship.
• Participate in goal setting and strategy meetings; review donor activity and metrics.
• Partner with events and donor engagement teams on annual giving events.
• Collaborate with Development Operations on gift processing and data practices.
• Explore new outreach channels (texting, retargeting).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
