Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking an associate to sort donated goods, operate material handling equipment, and load trailers as needed. The role includes following recycling procedures, maintaining cleanliness, and delivering high levels of customer service to internal and external customers.

Evening and weekend availability may be required. The position emphasizes safety, privacy, and teamwork, with a background check required and a preference for material handling experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year experience in a related field required.
• Criminal background check required.
• Material Handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sorts donated goods into the proper container for transfer to designated areas.
• Safely and efficiently uses material handling equipment to transport donated goods to the appropriate area.
• Loads trailers and containers when required.
• Follows established procedures for the safe disposal of waste, adhering to all recycling procedures.
• Maintains good housekeeping of assigned areas inside and outside of the facility.
• Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers and performs other duties as assigned by team management to include filing in for other positions when needed.
