Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a Donation Associate to assist customers with donated goods and perform pre-sorting of donations. You will greet donors, help unload vehicles, and ensure donations are categorized and labeled correctly.

This role emphasizes safety, asset protection, and maintaining a clean work environment. Evening/weekend availability may be required, with background check completion expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• No previous experience required.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.
• The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.
• The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to all customers, internal and external.
• Assist customers with their donations by greeting every donor and helping unload their vehicle.
• Accurately presort donations by category and label donations accordingly.
• Safely, efficiently and accurately load trailers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safe working area for associates and customers.
• Ensure the security of company assets and report any security or theft concerns.
• Adhere to department policies and procedures.
• Communicate with supervisor regarding donation area and customer issues.
• Dress and personal hygiene standards per Goodwill policy.
