Job summary

Goodwill Southwest Florida is seeking a Donation Door Lead in Estero, FL to oversee daily donation door operations and support intake, sorting, and processing using the Kaizen system. You will lead Attendants, ensure safety and labeling standards, operate material handling equipment, and deliver excellent donor service.

The role requires a high school diploma, forklift experience, and the ability to stand for long periods while lifting up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Previous retail and/or stock handling experience preferred.
• Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and independently stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
• Ability to recognize colors.
• Ability to frequently lift at least 40 pounds and occasionally team-lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to exercise good judgment, patience, and understanding.
• Knowledge of basic math skills.
• Ability to occasionally work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Oversee donation door area and assist Attendants with receiving, recording, sorting, and processing donations.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and other equipment to load/unload trucks and organize materials.
• Maintain a clean, safe donation area and remove unsafe pallets from service.
• Sort and place items into designated containers to support operations and minimize disposal costs.
• Greet donors and customers, record items, and provide donation receipts.
• Exercise sound judgment on whether donations can be accepted and communicate refusals tactfully.
• Thank donors and maintain courteous interactions with customers.
• Follow company policies and complete required training programs.
