Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, Inc. is seeking a Donation Express Attendant in Spring Hill, TN to welcome donors, issue receipts, and safeguard donations while maintaining a clean, organized center. You will sort items, record donations, and support transportation staff as needed.

The role emphasizes hospitality, reliability, and adherence to policies, with duties that include daily summaries, center communication, and engagement in mandatory meetings and center activities.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience working with the public.
• Must be able to lift/carry over 50 lbs.
• Must be able to read, write, and perform simple addition to complete required paperwork.
• Must present a consistently neat, clean image for Goodwill.
• Must work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must distinguish acceptable vs. unacceptable donations and communicate this to donors.
• Must have own transportation to all assigned donation centers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to relate to clients and employees.
• Experience working outdoors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit hospitality and a high level of customer service awareness, greet donors promptly and cheerfully, provide receipts, and handle items with care.
• Be prompt and consistent in attendance.
• Work scheduled hours and open/close the site on schedule.
• Decline donations graciously following policy for non-acceptable items.
• Sort and secure donations as designated by leadership.
• Accurately record all donations and assist with daily donation summary sheets.
• Communicate donation center activity by calling donor counts each work day.
• Organize DEC supply table and communicate needs to a supervisor.
• Assist transportation staff with sweeps and trailer exchanges where applicable.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment inside and around the DEC site.
• Attend mandatory DEC meetings designated by the Supervisor.
• Distribute flyers and information about Goodwill to donors as directed.
• Promote Goodwill’s mission to donors.
• Be knowledgeable of and comply with all policies and procedures and legal requirements.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
