Job summary

SimVentions is seeking an on-site System Administrator to develop and implement Windows- and Linux-based engineering solutions within a government hosting facility at the NAVAIR base in MD. The role requires an ACTIVE Secret clearance initially, with the possibility to obtain Top Secret later, and a strong focus on RMF, STIG, and DoD guidance.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of related experience, certification in Windows or Linux, and hands-on work with VMs, containers, AD, and backups.

Qualifications

• Active Security+ certification is preferred.
• Experience with RMF compliance, STIG and ACAS scanning.
• Bachelor of science in a technical field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering solutions for government software hosting facility.
• Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, including VMs and containers.
• Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes to physical and virtual hosts.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware and software on servers, workstations, and IT equipment.
• Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Deploy and maintain software applications.
• Troubleshoot technical issues.
• Maintain documentation: knowledge base, incident actions, configurations, and system administration info.
• Provide technical support to customers with guidance and best practices.
• Secure information systems per current DoD guidance.
• Maintain configuration and security posture via continuous monitoring and routine security events/reporting.
• Participate in Agile project planning.
• Provide networking support to on-premises infrastructure.
