Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a Network Engineer in Norfolk, VA to design, test, and maintain secure DoD/US government networks. You will specify hardware/software, perform integration testing, and ensure configuration control across mission-critical systems.

The role requires extensive experience with network infrastructure, security certifications, and the ability to work in a demanding federal environment. On-site position with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 8–10 years of network experience.
• CCNA or JNCIA-Junos certification.
• Security+ or DoD 8140 related certification.
• Experience obtaining ATO/Certification for DoD systems.
• Strong knowledge of network hardware including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with NEC and high-security electrical systems.
• Experience with IDS, Access Control, CCTV, Intercom, Mass Notification, and IP/OSP infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
• Advise on hardware/software selection and implementation techniques for mission needs.
• Conduct integration and testing of network designs.
• Maintain configuration control over software and hardware versions.
• Maintain expertise in network and computer hardware/software interconnection and interfacing.
• Manage requirements, design, and implementation for networks and end-to-end systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network issues.
• Produce inputs to TOs, drawings, and training documents.
• Perform security risk management and DoD policy-compliant network protection.
• Provide interface control documents and deployment instructions.
• Protect organization by keeping information confidential.
• Take ownership for new requests and add value to job accomplishments.
