Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Major Incident Response Technician to provide support in the Major Incident Response Cyber Support Center at Joint Base Andrews in Camp Springs, MD. The role covers full lifecycle incident management within a DoD environment and is onsite with ad-hoc telework.

You will identify, triage, and coordinate responses, maintain situational awareness, and communicate status to leadership while supporting government operations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics or business/finance or an applicable training certificate with minimum five years experience, with at least three years specialized experience.
• Bachelor's degree in the above subjects with four years general experience, of which at least two years must be specialized experience.
• No degree with eight years general experience, of which at least six years is specialized experience.
• Must hold a valid CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Active Secret security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and classify major IT incidents and events using data from AFNCR work centers and monitoring tools.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for triaging issues and orchestrate swift responses with internal and external teams.
• Establish and facilitate troubleshooting conference bridges for coordination between technical teams.
• Maintain clear, timely updates to government leadership from incident inception to resolution.
• Disseminate critical information through government communication and command structures.
• Drive investigation and resolution with the problem management team for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Provide phone and in-person support to users for e-mail, directories, standard Windows applications, and contract-developed apps.
• Serve as the initial contact for troubleshooting hardware/software PC and printer problems.
