Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field/Base Network Engineer to support the SMIT contract, focusing on BAN/LAN/WAN operations, COMSEC, and network utilization in a government setting. The role requires leading a technical team, managing incidents, and coordinating with customer stakeholders to sustain operations in a dynamic, mission-focused environment.

Candidates should have a BA/BS in IT or engineering or an MS/MBA with relevant experience, DoD clearance, and IAT II certification.

Qualifications

BA/BS in IT/engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience, or MS/MBA with 2+ years
Active DoD Secret clearance required, ability to upgrade to TS
DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification required before onboarding
Network vendor certs (e.g., CCNA/CCNP) or higher preferred

Responsibilities

Lead network operations for BAN/LAN/WAN, troubleshooting, repair, installation, cabling, and integration of current and future NGEN-R architectures
Provide COMSEC Local Element support, manage hardware/software assets and keys
Document activities with established tools and processes and maintain site documentation
Coordinate software upgrades and changes to the NGEN-R system
Monitor network health, perform maintenance, repair, and asset management actions
Interact with NOC and stakeholders to support incidents and restoral
Travel as required to support field operations and customer mission requirements
