Job summary

The Patriot Group is seeking a Business Development Manager in Los Angeles/Hawthorne, CA, hybrid role with up to 30% travel to grow sales of flight control and autonomy tech for DoD-driven platforms.

You will prospect, build relationships, and position our capabilities as a core component in partner platforms, driving a scalable pipeline and collaborating with engineering and leadership to align with product roadmap.

Qualifications

• BD or sales experience in defense, aerospace, or UAS markets.
• Proven ability to prospect and build new relationships from scratch.
• Comfortable translating technical capabilities into a customer-facing pitch.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Existing defense drone relationships is a plus.
• Familiarity with SBIR/STTR programs and Phase III transitions is a plus.
• Prior defense drone industry experience is a plus.
• Active security clearance is a plus.
• Pilot, instructor, or operational aviation background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and build relationships with UAS/drone manufacturers, integrators, and primes selling to the DoD.
• Position flight control and autonomy tech as a component for partners’ platforms.
• Own and grow the sales pipeline with clear metrics.
• Represent the company at UAS conferences, industry days, and trade shows.
• Translate customer needs into requirements for the technical team.
• Identify strategic partners to support go-to-market.
• Support SBIR/STTR-funded tech transitions when applicable.
• Partner with technical leadership to align BD with product roadmap.
