Job summary

Sauer Corporate Services LLC seeks a seasoned Superintendent to lead daily field operations on federal construction projects in the Norfolk area. The role emphasizes coordinating subcontractors, ensuring safety and schedule adherence, and maintaining quality across the project team.

The successful candidate will bring extensive DoD project experience, proficiency with Primavera and MS Office, and a proven track record in managing complex, multi-discipline field activities under government

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of Quality Control Manager experience on federal construction projects.
• At least 5 years of DOD project experiences on projects larger than 15 million.
• Substantial superintendent experience on Department of Defense projects.
• Working knowledge of Department of Defense and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers procedures and protocols.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
• Proficiency with Primavera scheduling software and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong leadership, communication, scheduling, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.
• U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Lean construction experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee site mobilization, temporary facilities, manpower, labor relations, and construction logistics.
• Support project estimating, schedule development, and preparation of subcontractor scopes of work.
• Coordinate subcontractors and the site team to maintain safe, efficient, and schedule-driven operations.
• Develop daily work plans and detailed schedules, resolving conflicts among the client, Sauer, and subcontractors.
• Supervise field activities and review manpower requests for craft labor.
• Participate in construction planning and recommend practical solutions to field issues.
• Communicate professionally with government representatives, clients, subcontractors, and project team members.
