Position Purpose

The Business Development Manager will focus on expanding TWC’s Department of Defense (DoD) contracts and non-contract business, engaging with stakeholders such as DoD Program Offices, end users, R&D, and legislative offices to shape and communicate requirements for head protection solutions. The role involves working closely with the TWC President and coordinating with the Vice President of Commercial Growth to align with strategic objectives and foster relationships within the defense sector.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Market Knowledge: Develop understanding of TWC programs, offerings, and operational procedures; analyze customer demand and product features.
  2. Representation: Attend trade shows, customer visits, and industry events to showcase products and build relationships.
  3. Subject Matter Expertise: Become a recognized expert on TWC/TW product lines and industry trends.
  4. Sales & Pipeline: Support sales strategies and manage customer pipelines.
  5. Product Promotion: Communicate product features and conduct presentations.
  6. Customer Relations: Maintain contacts and nurture ongoing relationships.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with teams across departments to optimize sales efforts.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Gather customer feedback for product enhancements and market insights.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years in related industry roles or active-duty military service with relevant experience.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making, communication, and technical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% and hold or be eligible for a SECRET security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with DoD acquisition trends, budgeting, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong communication skills for reports, updates, and proposals.
Relationships
  • Works closely with internal teams like Business Development, Engineering, Legal, and Marketing.
  • Engages with military customers, program managers, and regulatory entities externally.
