Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a Test Engineer to join the SLBM team at NSWC Dahlgren in Dahlgren, VA. The role involves designing and maintaining automated test scripts, developing test plans tied to requirements, and executing manual and automated testing across levels.

Requirements include 2+ years in software/systems testing, Linux proficiency, C++ review capability, and strong communication. Active Secret clearance and 5 days/week on-site are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software/systems testing experience.
• Experience running or writing automation scripts.
• Comfortable reviewing C++ code.
• Experience using Linux systems.
• Proven ability to link requirements to test cases and manage test artifacts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present to customers.
• Strong teamwork and ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied directly to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, and system-level).
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS and other tools.
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution.
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities.
• Interface directly and professionally with government customers daily.
• Occasionally present technical testing documentation.
