Job summary

GXO is seeking a Dockmaster for our North Carolina facility to lead dock activities, ensure safe trailer movements, and collaborate with operations, transportation, and safety teams. The role requires hands-on leadership and a strong service mindset in a fast-paced environment.

You will coordinate dock operations, follow established procedures and SWIs, and use MS Office 365 and Google Suite to document issues and communicate updates. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, dock, yard or transportation environments.
• Ability to coordinate dock/yard activities in a fast-paced setting.
• Familiarity with trailer docking procedures and safety standards.
• Ability to work outdoors in variable weather and terrain.
• Strong adherence to processes, safety and escalation protocols.
• Effective communication with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and dock equipment readiness.
• Coordinate loading/unloading dock activities for trailers.
• Manage trailer docking, release, and yard flow.
• Monitor dock conditions and stop-work when unsafe.
• Partner with site operations, transportation, yard, and customers.
• Communicate professionally with stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities follow guidelines and SWIs.
• Support dock/yard 7S organization.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify risks and delays.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage to site leadership and peers.
