Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. in Sterling, VA, is seeking a Yard and Dock Coordinator to lead dock activities and ensure safe, efficient trailer movement. This hands-on role collaborates with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to deliver daily dock priorities.

The role emphasizes accountability, operational discipline, and strong customer service. You’ll coordinate loading/unloading, monitor dock conditions, and support site leadership while following 7S standards and site SOPs.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation-related environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate dock and yard activities to support daily priorities.
• Serve as primary contact for loading/unloading dock activities.
• Monitor trailer movements and dock sequencing for safety.
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams.
• Ensure dock activities align with safety standards and site SOPs.
• Use Office 365 and Google tools to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage to site leadership as needed.
