Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Yard and Dock Coordinator to act as the primary contact for dock activities, ensuring safe and timely trailer movements. This role collaborates with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to meet daily priorities.

The ideal candidate has warehouse/dock experience, strong communication, and a commitment to safety. This is a 1st shift, full-time position requiring outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation-related environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and across varied terrain.
• Proven ability to follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication skills with daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Suite applications.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support dock-related equipment as required.
• Serve as primary contact for loading/unloading dock activities and coordinate trailer movements.
• Manage and sequence docking, release, and yard flow per safety standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and escalate unsafe situations.
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with process guidelines and site SWIs.
• Support dock and yard organization following 7S standards.
• Conduct regular visual inspections to identify risks and delays.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership and peers.
