Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a dock worker to load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack or by hand at our service center. You will strap and pad freight to prevent damage and record its condition on arrival.

You will perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment, maintain safety standards, and ensure timely, accurate handling of loads. Regular attendance and the ability to work various shifts, including overtime, are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Experience in transportation industry preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Prior forklift operation or forklift certification preferred.
• Must lift 70 lbs. or more as required by duties.
• Must read and follow safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Properly load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting
• Record the condition of freight as it arrives at the service center
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment
• Regular attendance is required
• Operational, safety and other duties may be assigned as needed
