Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Dock Supervisor to manage a shift in a service center, ensuring safety and efficiency in daily freight operations.

You will monitor loading/unloading, coach staff, and maintain health, safety, and performance standards while coordinating with leadership to meet service goals. Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2 years of operations experience in transportation.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of AS400, Microsoft Office, DYMS and BLU systems.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate daily safety of each employee.
• Oversee safe loading/unloading processes and productivity.
• Ensure housekeeping and safety standards are met.
• Supervise dock staff and assign work to meet objectives.
• Coordinate with Operations Manager and Service Center Manager on targets.
• Provide feedback on performance metrics and continuous improvement.
