Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is hiring a Dock Supervisor to oversee daily dock operations, safety, and efficiency across our freight network. You will manage a shift, supervise dock staff, and ensure adherence to safety, DOT, and OSHA regulations while maintaining quality service for customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2 years working operations experience in transportation preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred; strong communication skills.
• Working knowledge of AS400, Microsoft Office, DYMS and BLU systems.
• Knowledge of general DOT regulations; OSHA compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate safety of employees daily.
• Oversee safe loading/unloading processes and equipment usage.
• Teach safe lifting techniques and maintain housekeeping for safety.
• Manage dock work schedules and staff assignments.
• Coordinate with Operations Manager to meet service center objectives.
• Provide feedback on performance metrics and productivity.
