Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Dock Supervisor to oversee daily dock operations, ensuring safety and efficiency across shifts.

You will manage dock staff, coordinate loading/unloading, and monitor performance against OD standards, using OD’s technology systems to track shipments and daily activity. The role requires strong supervisory skills, safety focus, and knowledge of AS400/DYMS/BLU systems.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent is required.
• Some college coursework is preferred; a Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• 2 years operating/leadership experience in transportation preferred; supervisory role desired.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce safety for all employees daily.
• Oversee loading/unloading for efficiency and accuracy.
• Schedule dock operations and manage time off requests.
• Collaborate with Operations Manager to meet daily/weekly goals.
• Provide feedback on performance, productivity, and safety compliance.
• Maintain OSHA and DOT compliance and ensure equipment safety.
