Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Dock Supervisor to oversee shift operations and ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance across the freight network. The role emphasizes team leadership, data-driven decision making, and collaboration with operations leadership.

You will manage dock schedules, mentor staff, and coordinate with terminal and service center teams to meet daily, weekly, and monthly objectives, while maintaining OD's standards and customer service expectations.

Qualifications

• HSE-related training and DOT rules knowledge.
• Experience supervising dock operations preferred.
• Proven ability to lead teams and resolve conflicts.
• Familiarity with freight terminal technology systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily dock operations and safety compliance.
• Schedule and supervise dock personnel and activities.
• Monitor loading/unloading efficiency and accuracy of shipments.
• Coordinate with managers to meet service center goals.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to staff.
• Ensure proper use of equipment and safe lifting procedures.
• Review operational data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Communicate with associates, customers, and other teams throughout shifts.
