Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Dock Supervisor in Indianapolis to oversee daily dock operations, ensuring safety and efficiency across loading and unloading activities.

The role requires supervisory experience, DOT knowledge, and strong communication skills. You will work with the Operations Manager to meet performance goals and maintain OD’s high standards for service and safety.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two years of operations experience in transportation or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure daily safety of employees.
• Oversee loading/unloading and equipment utilization.
• Schedule dock operations and staffing.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe work environment.
• Coordinate with Operations Manager on objectives and performance.
• Provide feedback on productivity metrics and incidents.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations.
• Operate internal freight monitoring systems as needed.
• Lead daily shift meetings and communicate schedules.
