Forward Air Corp. is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, and document freight within a multimodal terminal, warehouse, or dock environment. The role emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and mentoring newer team members.

Compensation ranges from $20.00 to $21.56 per hour plus consistent overtime and a stable schedule. The job requires forklift certification or the ability to obtain it, English communication skills, and 3+ years of dock experience.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED; forklift certification or ability to obtain it before operating equipment.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, and perform basic arithmetic to verify freight counts and weights.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and designated areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight using handheld devices and company systems.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment and follow PPE standards.
• Support dock productivity and workflow efficiency.
• Work odd hours including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Mentor and support other Material Handlers.
