Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, and move freight in a multimodal terminal environment. You will operate sit-down/stand-up forklifts and related equipment, follow dock procedures, and maintain accurate documentation.

The role requires 3+ years in dock/warehouse work, a valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain), and strong English communication. Work schedule is 2 PM–10 PM, Monday–Friday, with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure (or ability to obtain before operating equipment).
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs with assistance or mechanical aids as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and designated areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight to ensure accuracy and documentation integrity.
