Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to transport freight between trailers and dock areas in a fast-paced environment. You will operate motorized and manual equipment, verify freight paperwork, and secure loads for safe delivery.

Qualifications include at least 18 years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, and experience in warehousing or forklift operations is preferred. This on-site role offers diverse duties and opportunities to work with customers and teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations preferred
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, pushing/pulling freight throughout shift
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers
• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck)
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials)
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed
• Perform hostling duties if required
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies
• Perform other duties as required
