Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking an on-site dock worker to transport freight across the dock area and assist with loading to trailers. You will operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand trucks, verify freight documentation, and secure cargo inside trailers.

Responsibilities include coordinating with service centers, repairing damaged freight when needed, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Prior warehousing experience is preferred, with varied shift times and a starting rate of pay of

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight, dock plates, and operate equipment as required.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand trucks as needed.
• Verify freight descriptions and documentation for accuracy.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or ropes.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
