Job Summary and Qualifications

A Division Director of Facility Management (DDFM) provides technical and project support related to facility management within an assigned division. The DDFM must reside within the supported region and regularly visit each facility, working directly with local Directors and hospital teams on infrastructure, staffing, projects, and other facility issues. The role involves identifying future leaders among local teams and supporting their development. Ensuring facilities are maintained safely and efficiently through rounds and metrics collection from CMMS and compliance software is essential. The ideal candidate will have extensive facilities maintenance knowledge in an accredited acute care hospital setting, thorough understanding of FacilitiGroup standards, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong communication and organizational abilities.

What you will do in this role:

Quality
  • Visit each facility regularly, review urgent needs, and assess overall condition.
  • Ensure maintenance and operation meet HCA standards via CMMS and compliance software.
  • Track performance indicators and report quarterly to leadership.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance programs and address issues proactively.
  • Apply knowledge of regulations (Joint Commission, NFPA, OSHA) for survey readiness and compliance.
  • Evaluate infrastructure systems for operability and maintenance needs, providing technical guidance.
  • Prioritize infrastructure capital requests to address urgent needs.
  • Review facility projects for scope and adherence to design guidelines.
  • Maintain asset condition data in CMMS.
  • Oversee funded projects, ensuring construction per design, and assist with design review and testing.
  • Evaluate vendor performance at each facility.
Service
  • Provide interim support during Director absences.
  • Assist during emergencies (e.g., natural disasters).
  • Support due diligence for construction and equipment projects.
  • Supervise major shutdowns and support during utility outages and remediation efforts.
People
  • Collaborate with facility teams to improve operations.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating staff.
Growth
  • Work with leadership to develop department practices for upkeep.
  • Provide annual performance evaluations.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development for staff and self.
Finance
  • Oversee critical infrastructure equipment for efficiency.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure correct invoicing.
  • Assist in short- and medium-term budget planning.
Other
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to the “Code of Conduct” and organizational values.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field.
  • 7 years of facility management experience in an acute care setting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role as a director.
  • Master’s degree, PE, CHFM, or CHE certifications are a plus.
