The Department of OB-GYN at Women and Infants Hospital in Rhode Island and the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University is searching for a Division Director of Midwifery. The Director of the Division of Midwifery will be responsible for assuring high-quality, compassionate, evidence-based patient care and medical education by our Midwifery staff at our in-patient and out-patient sites. The right candidate is an accomplished leader who has experience working with underserved families, and who is an outstanding clinician, educator, and mentor.

Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
The Department ranked 11 in U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 Best Medical Schools specialty ranking. It is one of the largest and most prestigious research facilities in high-risk and normal obstetrics, and gynecology in the nation.
The department consists of community-based faculty physicians in the community practices and hospital-based full-time faculty organized by divisions of Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Urogynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. The robust residency training program includes 32 diverse residents. The department is home to all four American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology accredited fellowships as well as strong programs in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic surgery and Family Planning through superb faculty. The department’s robust research portfolio with annual research revenue of over $9 million from federal, foundation and industry grants. This includes membership of three prestigious national research networks: the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Maternal Fetal Medicine Units Network, and Pelvic Floors Disorders Network, and the National Cancer Institute’s Gynecologic Oncology Group.
