Job summary

The Chicago Public Schools invite applications for a Diverse Learners Teacher. Under the supervision of the principal, you will guide instruction, track progress, and manage classroom discipline for students while engaging with multidisciplinary teams to support wellbeing.

You will align with CPS frameworks for equity and high expectations, personalize learning with appropriate technology, and collaborate with case managers, counselors, and teachers to promote success for all students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Valid teaching license with Illinois endorsement for the role (LBS1).
• Complete CPS online application and teaching profile at cps.edu/teach.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to design coherent instruction and assessments.
• Create a respectful classroom culture with strong management of student behaviors.
• Respond to student needs with engaging instruction and appropriately challenging questions.
• Communicate effectively with administration, colleagues, families, and students.
• Prioritize safety and adhere to the Student Code of Conduct.
