Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• A valid Illinois teaching license with endorsements for the role (LBS1 preferred).
• Completion of CPS online application and teaching profile.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to design coherent instruction and assessments.
• Create a respectful classroom culture with strong management of student behaviors and procedures, embracing diversity.
• Respond to diverse student needs with engaging, appropriately challenging instruction and assessments.
• Exhibit strong oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and professional judgment with staff and families.
• Prioritize student safety through consistent implementation of the Student Code of Conduct and school-wide systems.
• Personalize student learning through mastery and use of curriculum supports and technology when available.
• Advocate for equity and alignment with district themes of high expectations and developmental appropriateness.
