Job summary

Veit & Company, Inc. is seeking a Diver/ Dive Tender to perform tending, diving, and standby diver duties on diverse construction projects. Tasks include underwater work and topside operations, with potential support for other craft workers as needed.

The role requires a dive certificate, certified safety credentials, and strong communication skills. Travel and long hours—including evenings and weekends—are possible to meet project needs and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires dive certificate from accredited diving school.
• CPR and First Aid/AED certifications required.
• Effective oral and written communication with coworkers, management, and clients.
• Ability to read and understand site plans and read drawings.
• Ability to solve problems and adapt to unexpected issues.
• Willingness to travel and work long hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform tending, diving, and standby diver tasks as required by project needs.
• Operate and maintain diving gear and small equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and report defects to supervision.
• Follow OSHA safety procedures and site protocols.
• Keep job site clean and secure, and communicate any issues to the foreman.
• Attend to other duties assigned by management as needed.
