Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools seeks an Assistant Director of Custodial Services to oversee district-wide custodial operations, supervise managers, and ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and service across KCPS facilities.

The role collaborates with school and district leaders to maintain clean, safe learning environments and partner with Facilities to meet building-service needs. In-person, full-time position with competitive salary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years of custodial operations or related experience.
• Extensive knowledge of custodial operations, cleaning methods, sanitation standards, equipment, chemical handling, and best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS or work-order management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee district-wide custodial operations.
• Serve as department lead in the Director's absence.
• Supervise Custodial Area Managers, Warehouse Supervisor, and staff.
• Recruit, onboard, train, coach, evaluate, and retain custodial staff.
• Address performance and employee relations per district policies and labor agreements.
• Serve as liaison between school administrators and Custodial Services.
