Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a District Support Pharmacist (DSP) to cover pharmacist scheduling gaps across stores in the district, reporting to the Pharmacy Manager and District Leader. You will help manage pharmacy operations, ensure safe dispensing, and support immunizations and patient care.

The DSP role emphasizes travel within the district, leadership by example, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy procedures and safety guidelines to support excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list

Responsibilities

• Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC).
• Overseeing the pharmacy and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts.
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
• Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty.
• Contribute to patient experiences by showing empathy and coaching the team to do the same.
• Deliver immunizations and support technicians to learn to immunize.
• Manage pharmacy inventory with focus on protecting cold chain products.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.
• Stay current with clinical skills and CVS-required trainings.
• Support access to care and pharmacist-delivered clinical services where permissible.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws and CVS policies.
