Job summary

The Office of Congresswoman Sara Jacobs is seeking an organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented District Scheduler based in her San Diego District Office. This full-time, in-person position reports to the District Director and works closely with the district team, D.C. Scheduler, and Chief of Staff to manage the Congresswoman’s short- and long-term schedule.

The salary range is 60,000-65,000. Federal benefits are provided, including health insurance, retirement plans, and student loan repayment

Qualifications

  • Not entry-level: prior professional experience in scheduling, logistics, executive support, constituent or customer service, event management, or a comparable role is required.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage the Congresswoman’s daily and long-term San Diego schedule in coordination with senior staff.
  • Receive, evaluate, track, and respond promptly and professionally to scheduling requests.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts and logistical challenges and recommend solutions.
  • Drive and staff the Congresswoman at engagements throughout the district.
  • Conduct advance work, including confirming timing, transportation, parking, accessibility, security, staffing, and other logistics.
  • Compile daily briefing materials and ensure the Congresswoman and relevant staff are prepared for each engagement.
  • Coordinate district travel and security needs with staff, law enforcement, and outside partners.
  • Communicate schedule changes, priorities, and needs clearly and promptly across teams.
  • Brief staff on the district schedule during weekly meetings.
  • Support district office operations, events, special projects, and office coverage.
  • Maintain the professional appearance and readiness of the District Office and official vehicle.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date scheduling, travel, contact, and background files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Office of Congresswoman Sara Jacobs is seeking an organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented District Scheduler based in her San Diego District Office.

This full-time, in-person position reports to the District Director and works closely with the district team, D.C. Scheduler, and Chief of Staff to manage the Congresswoman’s short- and long-term schedule.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and logistical skills, sound judgment, discretion, clear communication, and the ability to anticipate challenges and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This is not an entry-level position. Prior professional experience in scheduling, logistics, executive support, constituent or customer service, event management, or a comparable role is required. Familiarity with Southern California is preferred.

This position requires flexibility beyond traditional business hours, including evening and weekend work as needed. The District Scheduler will regularly drive the Congresswoman to engagements and must possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
