Northeast Democratic Senator in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Scheduler with immediate availability. The Scheduler will report to the Director of Scheduling & Operations and work alongside the Special Assistant and Scheduling Assistant to plan and execute the Senator's daily schedule.

Key responsibilities include drafting, maintaining, and executing the Senator's daily schedule in D.C. and coordinating travel and logistics for meetings and events.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Drafting, maintaining, and executing the Senator's daily schedule in D.C.
  • Coordinating travel and logistics for the Senator's D.C. schedule, meetings, and events.
  • Anticipating scheduling conflicts and last-minute changes, and resolving them proactively.
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for D.C. scheduling matters with constituents and officials.
  • Managing and evaluating incoming invitations and scheduling requests in coordination with the Scheduling team.
  • Providing administrative support to the Director of Scheduling & Operations.

Job description

Northeast Democratic Senator is seeking an experienced Scheduler with immediate availability. The Scheduler will report to the Director of Scheduling & Operations and work alongside the Special Assistant and Scheduling Assistant to plan and execute the Senator's daily schedule.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Drafting, maintaining, and executing the Senator's daily schedule in D.C., ensuring that all schedule details and preparatory materials are accurate and complete.
  • Coordinating travel and logistics for the Senator's D.C. schedule, meetings, and events.
  • Anticipating scheduling conflicts, logistical challenges, and last-minute changes, and working proactively to resolve them.
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for D.C. scheduling matters with outside stakeholders, including constituents, elected officials, government agencies, and advocacy organizations.
  • Managing and evaluating incoming invitations and scheduling requests in coordination with the Scheduling team, senior personal office staff, and senior committee staff.
  • Serving as a backup driver and body person for the Senator as needed, including on nights and weekends.
  • Providing administrative support to the Director of Scheduling & Operations and assisting with special projects and other needs as assigned.
Strong candidates will possess the following qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of relevant scheduling experience. This is not an entry-level position.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate needs, adapt quickly to changing circumstances, and remain calm under pressure.
  • A friendly, professional, and collaborative demeanor when interacting with the Senator, colleagues, constituents, and external stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record for occasional driving needs.
  • Due to the variability of the Senate schedule, the ability to work long and unpredictable hours, including nights and weekends, on a regular basis.
