Job summary

WM's Kettleman Hills hazardous waste facility and McKittrick Landfill require an experienced District Manager to lead safety, operations, and P&L performance across two California sites. This highly visible role oversees a team of managers, drives continuous improvement, and ensures regulatory compliance while optimizing asset utilization and service to customers and stakeholders.

You will develop people, manage budgets, and work closely with regulatory agencies to maintain the highest safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 4 years of relevant work experience with a high school diploma.
• 5 years in a supervisory role with P&L responsibility.
• RCRA knowledge or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead district operations and ensure quality and budget performance.
• Monitor budget/operating metrics and drive process improvements.
• Execute capital budget and asset utilization plans.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance (OSHA and other standards).
• Oversee hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and training.
• Set short- and long-term goals with GM/Director of Operations.
• Participate in regular P&L reviews and cost optimization programs.
• Engage with city, county, and regulatory agencies and manage contracts.
• Engage suppliers and minimize supplier count where possible.
• Address employee relations and labor issues in collaboration with HR.
