Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a Service Manager to oversee facility safety, regulatory compliance, and financial performance at a California operation. You will lead staff and coordinate with sales, customer service, accounting, and health and safety to ensure compliance and growth in waste handling and treatment.

The role requires a DEA background check, a valid driver’s license, and management experience in hazardous waste.

Qualifications

• DEA background check is required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to wear PPE including respirator.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years in hazardous waste industry.
• Minimum of 3 years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Assigns work to production crews and supervises their activities.
• Audits crews’ performance for quality, safety conformance and utilization of resources.
• Continuously improve health, safety and environmental performance.
• Monitors production schedules and progress to coordinate work between shifts.
• Reviews records for receiving, handling, storing, packaging and transporting materials for safety and compliance.
• Reports and responds to plant emergencies; implements corrective actions when needed.
• Develops waste profile sheets and coordinates shipments in compliance with regulations.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by management.
